Amy Klein
Director of RiverRun Montessori
Amy is a Certified Director through the American Montessori Society. She received her Montessori 6-9 Year Certificate from the Center for Montessori Education and has been teaching Lower Elementary at RiverRun since 2010. Amy holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University.
Amy Haworth
Primary Lead Teacher
Amy has been teaching in Montessori classrooms in the Schenectady area since 2004. She received her AMS Early Childhood certification at Northeast Montessori Institute and her Infant and Toddler training at Princeton Center for Teacher Education. She holds a BA from Gettysburg College.
Hayley Carra
Primary Assistant
Haley really enjoys working with children and last summer has began to pursue her Early Children Montessori Certificate from NMTE. We welcome guiding her through her journey.
Haley is engaged, creative, kind and gracious. She graduated from the Girl Scouts as an Ambassador and shows a commitment to community service.
Maranda Farrier
Primary Assistant
With a passion for adventure and a love for creativity, Maranda believes learning should be both fun and engaging. She is dedicated to assisting in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment that supports every child's growth. She is compassionate and has strong communication skills.
Maureen Brown-Lansaw
Maureen has over fifteen years of experience as a Montessori Primary Lead Teacher. She received her Early Children Montessori Certificate from NMTE; has New York state permanent teaching credential for Pre-K through 6th grade and school psychology; and has a MS in Educational Psychology and Statistics from the University at Albany.
Sarah Lansaw
Lower Elementary Lead Teacher
Sarah has a Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Art History, with a minor in Education. She has lived and studied in both Italy and Scotland, and spent a year teaching ESL and core subjects in South Korea. A Montessori child herself, she has spent time over the years assisting in the Primary classroom and is a certified elementary teacher through the Montessori Elementary Treacher Training Collaborative.
Cynthia Cramsie
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher
Cyndy is back home from Beijing, China, where she spent four years teaching at the International Montessori School of Beijing. In addition to teaching, she is completing her Upper Elementary Montessori credential. Cyndy has returned to RiverRun Montessori to work in our Elementary program. We are so happy she is bach with us!
Emily Wilkins
Assistant Teacher
Emily is a mother to two young children, which inspired her passion for working with children. She joined the military out of high school, where she pursued behavioral health studies. Emily is an avid hiker and photographer and is eager to start her Montessori journey. She believes deeply in the philosophy and we are grateful to have her grow and learn with us.
Joshua Borthwick
Assistant Teacher/Mandarin Teacher
Josh has a degree in East Asian Studies and a Masters degree in History. He taught elementary students Mandarin Chinese in Schenectady public schools for a year and a half before moving to the private sector where he worked for a software company in Asia. He was also a stay-at-home dad to his two sons, Avi and Miles. His hobbies include hiking, enjoying music, and sports.
Karen Roberts
Office Manager
Karen brings years of experience working as a Montessori primary and elementary classroom assistant. Karen has a wide range of knowledge and a commitment to the Montessori pedagogy that comes through in her work with children, parents and colleagues.
